My Holy Week Book Challenge

Lenten Blessings to all our Parish families!  Our Holy Week Challenge for kids is back this year with a slight alteration. As always, the children who complete the challenge get to have dinner together with Fr. Andrew as a group. However, instead of collecting circles for their palms, the children will be collecting pages to finish a book of 11 pages (not counting the cover). The cover page is provided in this announcement to get you started. When your child attends the following services during Holy Week, be sure they visit the welcome desk to pick up their page before the service. Some of the longer services have an i-Spy page included to help the children be engaged while they are in the pew.  If you are not able to complete the entire challenge, please feel free to pick up a page for any service you attend so that your child can take part in the iSpy as extras will be printed. Here are the details:

Collect pages on the following days to add to, and complete, your book.  Any child who attends Mass or special services on each day of Holy Week will be invited to have dinner with Fr. Andrew.  The Holy Week services are:

  • Palm Sunday Mass
  • Holy Thursday - Mass of the Lord’s Supper
  • Good Friday
    • Stations of the Cross AND/OR
    • Celebration of the Passion of the Lord
  • Special prayer at home OR Easter Vigil
  • Easter Sunday Mass (if you did not attend the Easter Vigil)

Contact Jen Minor if you attend a Catholic Service at a different parish while traveling.  When books are completed, please email Jminor@standrewbythebay.org to let Jen know.  Those families will be contacted with details regarding the Holy Week challenge dinner with Fr. Andrew.
